Friday Five

Happy Labor Day weekend y'all! Can't believe the end of summer has arrived. I'm soaking up one last weekend at the beach! Here are a few things I'm loving this week:

1. Lilly Pulitzer McCallum Dress in Its A Zoo

I ordered this dress from the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale and it arrived this week. It fits great- and I love that the chest area is padded. Its A Zoo is one of my favorite Lilly prints ever because it has elephants and pandas (two of my favorite animals) in the same print! I already had the January Skort in this print, and for the amazing sale price I had to add a dress in this print to my collection! I'm also obsessed with the tie and exposed zipper in the back!

2. Chick-fil-a Surprise
When I went to redeem my free large soft drink, which was my Chick fil a calendar deal for August, they gave me a card for a free grilled chicken sandwich! As if I needed another reason to love Chick fil a!

3. Lilly Pulitzer Hayden Beach Skirt in Elephant Ears
This fun pull-on linen mini skirt is also part of my Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale Haul. I admired this skirt when it first came out back in the spring, but couldn't justify paying full price, so I took advantage and ordered it during the sale. This print contains elephants as well (hence the name), even though you have to look a bit harder to see them. I look forward to getting a little bit of wear out of it this weekend before I have to put it away until next Easter- I'm a stickler on the no linen after Labor Day rule! This skirt is perfect for lounging around or for casual summer outings.

4. Dairy Queen Chips Ahoy Blizzard

Dairy Queen's Blizzard of the Month for August is Chips Ahoy. I tried it when I was at the beach last weekend. I'm not sure how long it's going to stick around so get it while you can. It's amazing!

5. Watermelon on the Beach
I love watermelon, but haven't eaten nearly enough this summer. I remedied that issue last weekend by enjoying some on the beach.

Hope y'all have a safe and fun Labor Day weekend filled with sunshine and college football!

Friday Five

I'm back with another Friday Five! It's hard to believe summer is almost over- it has flown by!

1. Another Gorgeous Summer Sunset
This picture was taken about 10 days ago when I had ice cream with some friends at a dairy farm out in the country. They have this awesome covered porch with rocking chairs where you can sit and eat ice cream, chat with friends, and watch the sun set.

2. Lilly Pulitzer Maddie Fleece in True Navy
I ordered this navy Lilly Pulitzer fleece jacket for more than 50% off retail during the After Party Sale (formerly known as the Endless Summer Sale). I already have it in pink and in black, but was really hoping to add the navy to my collection since I definitely have a handful of fall/winter clothes that the navy will go better with. I'm so excited it has already arrived!

3. World Elephant Day
August 12 was World Elephant Day, and since I  haven't posted since then, I wanted to share this collage I made in honor of the occasion. This collage only captures a small portion of the number of elephant items I own. It would be an interesting project to figure out the exact number sometime. I'm just a bit obsessed!

4. Fried Pimiento Cheese and Fruit Salad
Last weekend I went to go visit one of my best friends and we ate dinner at this local restaurant where I got this AMAZING salad! The fried pimiento cheese is perfection! It looks like crab cakes on the outside, but when you cut it open it oozes pimiento cheese. There are also candied walnuts, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, lettuce, tomato, and shredded cheese. The fruit and lettuce balances the fried pimiento cheese to make it healthy, right?!

5. Lilly Pulitzer Liz Shift in Sunnyside
Ever since I got the Lilly Pulitzer Liz Shift in the Crazy Cat House print for my birthday back in the spring, I have wanted it in the Sunnyside print. Not only do I share my name with this dress style, but it is so classic and fits me really well. I couldn't justify paying full price though. When I was in Hilton Head a month ago, the Belk there happened to have it for 50% off. There was only one left and it was MY SIZE, so it was totally meant to be! I went for it then because I didn't want to risk not getting it in the end of summer Lilly online sale. The pink and green lion print is adorable!

Hope y'all have a great weekend and soak up these final days of summer!

Saturday Six

I didn't get this post together in time to publish yesterday, but I still wanted to share several things I'm loving this week. So instead of the Friday Five I'm doing the Saturday Six!

1. Lilly Pulitzer South Carolina Print Murfee Scarf

I am a North Carolina girl through and through and already have the North Carolina print scarf. I decided that I wanted to add the South Carolina print Murfee to my collection because the Palmetto State holds a special place in my heart. I went to school in South Carolina and even lived there for over two and a half years after I was finished with school. Some of my best friends still live there and my time living there played a huge role in shaping me into who I am today. The print is also gorgeous- it will look great with an orange top or dress for Clemson game day- I have a friend in SC who is like a second mom to me and her whole family is HUGE Clemson fans and I sometimes go to Clemson athletic events with them.

2. Lilly Pulitzer Mirror Compact with Blotting Papers

One factor that encouraged me to purchase the South Carolina Murfee scarf this weekend is that Lilly is currently doing a Gift With Purchase (GWP) promotion where you get this printed compact with mirror and blotting papers free with ANY purchase, no minimum spend. Some of Lilly's no minimum spend level GWPs are better than others, and this was a pretty good one so I went for it. If you have oily skin like me, blotting papers are a must, especially in the summer!

3. Personalized Coke Zero
I have had fun searching for Coke Zero bottles with my name in stores. I have bought a few, and when I add a Lilly koozie it makes the ultimate personalized Coke Zero. I don't know why I think this Share A Coke campaign is so cool, but I do.

4.. New Digital Camera
I upgraded my digital camera a couple weeks ago. My old one which I'd had for a little over five years still worked fine, but I wanted a point and shoot with a little higher megapixels and zoom. The best feature about this camera that really encouraged me to take the plunge is it's built in WiFi capability. You can send pictures from the camera to your phone without having to upload them to a computer first. I really like this because I love to Instagram and text photos to people, but I prefer the quality of a digital camera as opposed to an iPhone camera, especially in low lighting situations. In the past I would wait until I got back from a trip or outing to share photos on Instagram or via text, unless I wanted to upload a lower quality picture immediately. I love that now I can take high quality pictures and share instantly. Plus this new camera takes even clearer pictures than my other digital camera. If you're in the market for a new point and shoot digital camera I highly recommend the Canon PowerShot ELPH 340 HS.

5. Gorgeous Summer Sunset
On Thursday night I went to a minor league baseball game with some friends, and the sunset was absolutely breathtaking!

6. Friendship Quote
I came across this quote as I was going through pics on my phone. I had screenshot this from Instagram or Twitter awhile back. I have been thinking and reflecting on how so very true it is. I have friends that I have known for a relatively small percentage of my life, but I feel like I've been friends with them forever. And they have stood by me and helped me through some really difficult seasons in life.

Hope y'all are having a great weekend and staying dry!

Friday Five

I can't believe it's August already! Summer is just flying by! I will attempt to blog more in August than the measly one post I blogged in July. I have so many Featured Outfit posts I need to catch up on! But for now, here is this week's Friday Five:

1. Girls Weekend in Hilton Head

Last weekend I enjoyed an amazing girls trip to Hilton Head Island, SC with two of my best friends. We enjoyed a dolphin cruise on the Intracoastal Waterway, time on the beach, and going out to dinner. This North Carolina was reminded of how wonderful South Carolina is too!

2. Kate Spade Outlet

On the way out of Hilton Head we stopped at the Tanger Outlets off the island and I got to visit a Kate Spade outlet for the first time. I got these beautiful pearl bow earrings and a gold bow ring I had been wanting for awhile. Sadly, I lost my bow ring about 24 hours after getting it :( I took it off somewhere to wash my hands and it hasn't surfaced. I'm still loving my earrings though and the packaging is beautiful!

3. Chick-fil-a Milkshakes
I have had Chick-fil-a milkshakes a few times this summer and been reminded of how amazing they are. One time I enjoyed a chocolate one poolside with my best friend, and another time I got a cookies n' cream one for lunch for free using my Chick fil a calendar coupon.

4. Mason Jar Party Favors

One of my friends who hosted a bridal shower recently came up with the precious idea to make personalized burlap tags for mason jars that would double as party favors and as drinking receptacles during the party. With the personalized tags we never got confused about whose drink was whose.

5. Patriotic Coke Display

I got a bit excited about this patriotic display of Coke 12-packs in the Hilton Head Kroger. I wonder how long it took them to put together!

Have a great weekend y'all!
