Featured Outfit: Go Tigers!

As I mentioned in my previous post, I attended the Clemson-NC State baseball series in Raleigh this past weekend. The Friday game was cold (temps in upper 30's) the Saturday game was significantly warmer (temps in mid 50's), and the Sunday game was even warmer (temps in upper 60's). I took advantage of the spring-like weather on Sunday and wore my orange Lilly Pulitzer Cassie dress sans tights. My South Carolina Murfee scarf made an appearance in this ensemble as well. The print has some orange in it, so I really like how it looks with a solid orange dress. It was a beautiful day to be outside cheering on my Tigers. I definitely got some sun!

Featured Outfit: I Love South Carolina

I have lived the majority of my life in North Carolina, and love so many things about the Tar Heel State. However, I went to college in South Carolina, and also lived there for a little less than three years as a post-college 20-something. As much as I enjoy life in NC, I miss SC very much and go back frequently to visit some of my dearest friends. When Lilly first introduced the Murfee scarves in six different state prints back in Fall 2012, I asked for the North Carolina one for Christmas. However, last summer I decided I needed the South Carolina Murfee too, because the print kept becoming more and more beautiful to me, and I realized more and more how much my time living in South Carolina shaped me as a person. I bought the SC Murfee in August 2014 when Lilly did a gift with purchase promotion. Here's how I styled it when I wore it to church about a month ago. It was an unseasonably warm February day, so I didn't need tights.

I also like how the SC print has some orange in it, which would look great with an orange top to support my Clemson Tigers! I'm a lifelong UNC Tar Heels fan, but have grown to love Clemson too, thanks to a dear friend who I met in SC who is a hard core Clemson fan!

Featured Outfit: Escapade in the Everglades

I got the Lilly Pulitzer Corrine Dress in "Escape in the Everglades" for a great deal from my favorite Lilly signature store during the After Party Sale at the beginning of the year. I wore it to church several weeks ago and "winterized" it with a down puffer vest, brown tights, and boots. This is a great dress because it can easily be "winterized" since the print isn't overly summery. It will also be a great transitional piece for early spring days where it's warm enough to ditch the tights but still cool enough for long sleeves. Here's how I styled it earlier in the winter:

Featured Outfit: Peppermint Stripes

I am way behind on winter Featured Outfit posts. Winter is almost over, thank goodness! As much as I dislike the cold weather, I still manage to put together some ensembles that I enjoy wearing. I wore the following back in December 2014, when I visited one of my best friends for a weekend of Christmas-y fun. This striped sweater was great to wear during the Christmas season because the pink and green stripes made me feel like a piece of peppermint candy. Depending on the weather, it could also be a great top for St. Patrick's Day in a couple weeks.

Christmas Party Outfits

The past couple weekends I have attended multiple Christmas parties. A couple of them were cocktail attire, which was super fun dressing up for since I usually don't have that many semiformal events to attend. Here is what I wore:

Party 1:

I wore a LulaKate bridesmaids dress from my cousin's wedding with my pink Lilly Pulitzer bow earrings, pearls, and Kate Spade idiom bangles and cocktail ring. I wore a pair of one-inch pointy-toe heels since I was standing a lot.

Party 2:

I wore my Lilly Pulitzer Shauna Tunic dress with black tights and Tory Burch black Reva flats (not pictured), sparkly Kate Spade stud earrings, Kate Spade idiom bangles and cocktail ring, J.Crew elephant critter necklace, and my new Tory Burch Amanda Crossbody.

Party 3:

I wore my Lilly Pulitzer Black Bowen dress with gold embroidery detail on the skirt, pearls, Tory Burch gold logo stud earrings; and a Kate Spade cocktail ring and bow bangle. I also wore my shorter black pointy-toe heels for comfort's sake.

Featured Outfit: Striped Cassie Dress

Here's another Featured Outfit post I have stored up and have been meaning to share. Several months ago I bought the striped Lilly Pulitzer Cassie Dress from Ruelala. I love the Cassie because there are so many options for accessorizing. And even though this one isn't a solid, there are still multiple ways to pair it with accessories. Featured Outfit: Elsa Top + Murfee Scarf

Here's a favorite outfit I wore out to dinner with a friend about a month ago that I've been meaning to post! I wore my cotton Lilly Elsa Top and one of my favorite Murfee scarves- a print that was designed for Palm Avenue to benefit the Amani Children's Foundation which helps orphans in Kenya! I also layered pearls with a scarf for the first time ever!

Our Mascot Is Cooler Than Your Mascot

Lilly Jeep!

This past weekend I was visiting some friends and my visit coincided with the Lilly Jeep being at Pink Bee, the local Lilly store! Since Lilly's birthday was on a Sunday, Pink Bee had their celebration on Saturday. I wore my favorite new Lilly scarf for the occasion and stopped by for a photo opp with the Jeep:

I bought the Maddie Fleece as an early Christmas present to myself. I absolutely adore it!

Lilly Pulitzer's Birthday!

This past Sunday, November 10, was the late great Lilly Pulitzer's birthday! I was out of town on Lilly's birthday visiting a friend, so I'm a few days late getting this post up. Here is what I wore to church in honor of the occasion:

My Lilly Pulitzer Stephanie Shift in Cameo White In The Conservatory and Gold Bow-tie belt were my two Lilly pieces at the center  of the ensemble. I paired them with a light tan J.Crew Factory cardigan, brown Merona sweater tights from Target, and Ariat Heritage Western R-toe boots. I completed the look with Kate Spade Skinny Mini Bow bangle and cocktail ring, and Tory Burch gold logo stud earrings and sunglasses. 

Then after church I changed into my printed Cassie Top in the Drama Queen print and since Lilly loved critters I wore my elephant critter necklace from the J.Crew outlet. I don't have a picture of my whole outfit but the top is below. I paired it with skinny jeans and my tan Tory Burch Revas.

UNC Game Day Outfits!

Here is a handful of UNC Game Day outfit possibilities I have put together-for both warm weather and cool weather. I love to wear a dress or skirt on game day as much as possible. While tights are on option with the skirt/dress ensembles on cooler days, if it's cold enough then I have to wear my North Face jacket as well, and that takes away from the look of a cute skirt or dress.

Warmer Weather Looks:

Featured Outfit: One Top, Two Fall Looks

I really love my Hotty Pink Elsa Top by Lilly Pulitzer. This is actually a cotton Elsa, and I wish Lilly would make the Elsa in cotton again because I love the style, but not the dry cleaning fees that come with a silk top. The Elsa is so versatile, and you can see how I created two different Fall looks with it. A few weeks ago when it was still in the 80s I wore it with shorts and Jacks:

Featured Outfit: Transition Time

We are in that time of transition where it's past Labor Day but still quite warm outside. If you're a stickler on the rules like me, Labor Day means its time to put up the white pants, seersucker, and super summery Lilly prints. But with a few exceptions, it's just not quite sweater weather in the South in September-which is fine by me since I'm in no hurry for it to get cold! Here is a weather appropriate and seasonally appropriate outfit I wore this past Friday evening for a picnic in the park to celebrate a good friend's birthday. I wore a sleeveless polo and then put a cardigan on when it got a little cooler later in the evening. Even though it's still very warm during the day, temperatures are definitely dropping more at night!
