The Cassie: One Dress, Many Looks!

I love the Cassie Dress by Lilly Pulitzer! This simple 3/4 sleeve cotton slub jersey dress is so incredibly comfortable! One of the best things about it is it's versatility! The styling opportunities are endless and you can create completely different looks with the same dress depending on what shoes, jewelry, and accessories you wear! This post is long with lots of pictures, but it will be worth it if you read all the way through, I promise! I have paired the Cassie Dress in New Green (no longer available on Lilly's website in this particular color, but it might reappear during the Endless Summer Sale) with different necklaces, shoes, and belts to illustrate the variety of looks that can come from one basic dress!

Starting off:
 Plain Cassie Dress

Look 1:

Look 2:
With Lilly Pulitzer Hotty Pink First Impression Murfette Scarf and Tory Burch Tan Reva flats

Look 3:

Look 6:

Look 8:

Look 9:

Look 10:

Look 11:

Look 12:
With Towne & Reese Blue Long Necklace and Ariat Cowgirl boots

Look 13:
With basic pearls, Lilly Pulitzer printed sash (came with one of my dresses), and Silver Jack Rogers

I've created 13 different looks with just one dress, and there are so many more possibilities by mixing and matching the different shoes, necklaces/scarves, and belts! Plus you can add even more variety depending on what bracelets and earrings you wear!

Do you have a Lilly Pulitzer Cassie Dress? How do you like to style yours? Also, do you usually get your normal size or size up? I can wear my normal size but sometimes like to size up for a looser fit around the thighs and butt. I'm hoping there will be some Cassie for great prices on Lilly's upcoming Endless Summer Sale!

Preppy Summer Work Outfits

Here are two favorite preppy outfits I've worn to work recently. The first outfit includes a classic Lilly Pulitzer skirt with a white top. I also wore a white cardigan with this outfit but forgot I had taken it off when I took these pictures:

Skirt: Lilly Pulitzer Roslyn Skirt in Lilly's Pink Big Squeeze (love the adorable koalas in this print!); Top: Banana Republic Outlet; Earrings: Kate Spade; Pearls: Honora; Bracelets: Kate Spade "Hot To Trot" and "Tickle The Ivories" Idiom Bangles; Ring: Kate Spade; Shoes: Jack Rogers
Not Pictured: J.Crew Factory White Cardigan

The second outfit includes super comfortable cotton knit dress from the Banana Republic Outlet, dressed up with a cardigan and heels. And I love how my colorblocked bangle adds a pop of pink to the navy and white palette:

Featured Outfit: Another Zoo Day

I am long overdue for another Featured Outfit post, so here goes! When I went on a road trip a couple weekends ago to visit some friends, I got to go to a cute little local zoo. Much smaller than the NC Zoo I had visited a month prior, but still tons of fun. I thought this was an appropriate opportunity to break out my elephant print shorts from the Milly for Banana Republic Collection, and I also wore my giraffe necklace and turtle ring. One of my friends definitely got a kick out of the number of animals my outfit incorporated!

Milly for Banana Republic!

Today was the debut of the special-edition collection that designer Milly created for Banana Republic. The designer collaborations for Banana are nice because they are higher end than the ones for Target (absolutely nothing against Target though!) but still offer designer pieces at more affordable prices. When I saw in previews that the Milly/Banana Republic collaboration would include these precious navy elephant print shorts, I knew I had to get them! So I made a trip to Banana Republic this afternoon to pick them up! They fit really well and the quality is exceptional in my opinion!
I also got this coral elephant print cotton scarf that is part of the collection! If y'all read my blog regularly, then you know I'm just a little obsessed with elephants! It is so popular that it has already sold out online!

Here are some other favorites from the Milly Collection for Banana Republic:

I really like Banana Republic's collaboration with Milly because the bright colors and fun prints remind me of my favorite designer: Lilly. I'm super glad I already got my elephant print shorts and scarf because this pattern definitely seems to be the collection's best-seller. The scarf is already sold out online and the shorts are already sold out in many sizes online. There is also a coated cosmetic case like this one available in the elephant print but it is already sold out online as well! What do y'all think of the Milly Collection for Banana Republic? Have you bought anything yet or do you plan to?

Featured Outfit: An Unexpected Combo

So I have a handful of Featured Outfits that I have worn recently and need to post! This particular one is from my trip two weekends ago to visit one of my best friends. One of the great things about Lilly Pulitzer skorts is that they are so versatile! You can wear them with a polo or tank top and Jacks or flip-flops for a casual but cute daytime look. However, they can also be dressed up a bit with a jacket and wedges to go out to dinner or for a night out, as I have discovered. This versatility of the Lilly skort was especially convenient during my recent trip. During the drive down on Friday afternoon I wore a Lilly skort, white top, and Jacks. I got caught in traffic and didn't have time to go by my friend's place and change before dinner. Luckily I was resourceful and threw on a dark gray jacket over my top (it was getting a bit chillier anyways) and swapped my Jacks for some wedges. The place where we had dinner that night wasn't super fancy, but I probably would've felt a little underdressed if I had kept both the plain white top and Jacks on with my skort. I felt that my ensemble with the jacket and wedges was appropriate, and it gave me a chance to be creative and pull together an outfit I might not otherwise have worn out to dinner if I was standing in my closet at home.
Jacket: LOFT; Top: Banana Republic Outlet; Skort: Lilly Pulitzer Alberta Gator Print (Spring 2010); Shoes: Banana Republic Outlet; Earrings: Lilly Pulitzer (Resort 2012); Pearls: Honora; Bracelet: Kate Spade Rise Above Idiom Bangle; Sunglasses: Kate Spade
And here's a closer-up view

Have y'all put together any unexpected outfit combinations lately?

Featured Outfit: Two Yellow Skirts

Last week I debuted some new favorite pieces in my closet: my Lilly Pulitzer Murfette Scarf in Shorely Blue Chin Chin, as well as a fun yellow pencil skirt and metallic espradille wedges from the Banana Republic Outlet. This is a great wear-to-work look for Spring! I got multiple compliments on how "springy" I looked!

Cardigan: JCrew Factory; Camisole, Skirt, and Shoes: Banana Republic Factory; Scarf: Lilly Pulitzer; Earrings and Cocktail Ring: Kate Spade; Bracelet: Kate Spade "Rise Above" Idiom Bangle

Then Sunday before last I wore the same top and accessories with a different yellow skirt and my gold Jacks. Here is this slightly different look:

Skirt: Lilly Pulitzer (Summer 2011); Shoes: Jack Rogers; Everything else: same as above

I love the way my new Shorely Blue Chin Chin Murfette scarf looks with yellow! And if you're looking for a cute pair of open-toe espradille wedges, head to the Banana Republic Outlet!

Featured Outfit: St. Patrick's Day

Hope everyone had a fun St. Patrick's Day! I wore two different outfits with the same green Lilly cardigan during the course of the day: one for church in the morning and the other for the rest of the day.
First up is my outfit for church:
Cardigan: Lilly Pulitzer; Camisole: LOFT; Skirt: Banana Republic Factory Store; Belt: Banana Republic Factory Store; Shoes: Bandolino; Necklace: JCrew Factory; Earrings: Kate Spade; Cocktail Ring: Kate Spade

And here's what I work for the remainder of the day while watching basketball and going to a party:
Cardigan: Lilly Pulitzer; Camsiole: LOFT; Scarf: Lilly Pulitzer; Jeans: Citizens of Humanity Avedon Skinny; Cowgirl Boots: Ariat Heritage Western R-toe; Earrings: Kate Spade; Cocktail Ring: Kate Spade; Bracelet: Spirit Pearl
Here's a close-up of my UNC Spirit Pearl bracelet. I had to add this to my green outfit to show some UNC spirit on Selection Sunday, and to cheer them on in the ACC Tournament Championship (just wish the outcome of that one could've been different!)

And here is a close-up of the festive goodies I brought to the party, along with my "Kiss Me I'm A Tar Heel" t-shirt that I used as dessert table decoration:
Recipe for covered pretzels is here (just substitute green m&m's)
Recipe for Lucky Charms treats: See last week's post
Green congo squares: I added green food coloring to a recipe from Ma Fox's Cookbook (an old cookbook my family has)

Featured Outfit: Preppy & Professional

Here are a couple outfits I have worn to work this winter that pair a pencil skirt, tights, and boots with a printed Lilly turtleneck. Both of these turtlenecks are from Lilly's Fall 2010 collection, and they haven't done any printed turtlenecks since then. I would love to see them return in future fall collections because they are so fun, bright, and cheerful yet still appropriate for fall/winter.

Both Outfits:
Top: Lilly Pulitzer printed Tess Turtleneck (Fall 2010); Skirt: Banana Republic Factory Store; Tights: Target (Merona sweater tights); Boots: Banana Republic Factory Store; Necklace: from clothing and accessories swap with friends

Outfit 1 earrings: Kate Spade Metropolitan Pearl Studs
Outfit 2 earrings: J.Crew Factory Silver Hoops

Have a great Monday!

Featured Outfit

This recent Outfit of the Day (OOTD) is a winter staple- classic cable-knit sweater and colorful scarf combination. As y'all know, I love my Lilly scarves. But I also adore the Old Navy scarf I'm wearing as part of this outfit, because it's pink and the colorful polka dots remind me of confetti. Plus it's also special because a dear friend gave it to me for my birthday a few years ago. She always picks out the most thoughtful gifts that are so "me."
Sweater: Lilly Pulitzer; Scarf: Old Navy; Jeans: !iT Denim; Boots: Banana Republic Outlet; Earrings: Kate Spade
